Armed with her powerful piercing voice, the Grammy Award-winning Oumou Sangaré addresses issues like civil rights, polygamy and childbirth in her music, while at the same time giving a fresh spin on traditional Malian folk. Last weekend, she was the closing for the Afrika Festival in Hertme. Vrije Geluiden was their to capture her enigmatic performance. Listen below.
