The overwhelming Domkerk (Dom Church) is the first Dutch gothic cathedral, dating back to the 13th century. With its 112 meters it is not just the highest building in Utrecht, it is also the highest church tower in The Netherlands.

The cathedral architecture provides a stunning setting for concerts and creates a phenomenal acoustic for choirs and acoustic music as well. In 2019, the 34-piece French orchestra ‘Orchestre de Nouvelles Créations (ONCEIM) presented, in collaboration with Sunn O)))-founder Stephen O'Malley, entitled ‘Gruides’, and ‘Occam Océan’, the result of a two-year collaboration with Éliane Radigue, a leading figure in French contemporary music.

The Domkerk is also located close to other venues like the Janskerk, Theater Kikker, Stadsschouwburg and within walking distance of TivoliVredenburg. The monastery garden is also worth to pay a visit, being a green oasis in the city centre.
