Hoping to introduce audiences to ‘new ways of perceiving music’, LA-based artist Maral stitched together Iranian classical music, folk samples, noise, post-punk and dub influences on her second album ‘Push’. Made as an attempt to transfer the sound of 2019’s ‘Mahur Club’, to a live setting, she describes the recording process as ‘being in a band’ with her samples. She also welcomed (remote) contributions by Crass co-founder Penny Rimbaud and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry.
