Genre-bending singer Neneh Cherry performed at Le Guess Who? 2018, presenting work from her latest album 'Broken Politics'; you can now listen + watch part of the performance below:

Neneh Cherry - 'Shot Gun Shack', live at Le Guess Who? 2018:

Across decades, Neneh Cherry traversed and transcended every known faction of the music world; from bona fide pop stardom to the peripheries of punk rock, club music and jazz. Even more recently, Cherry’s work seems to diversify and cover new ground, with collaborators ranging from The Thing, Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden to fellow Swedish pop icon Robyn. It all dovetails into her headstrong viewpoints on ancestry, sex, politics and social change, a sensibility that laid the foundation for pop music in today’s malignant political climate.

"The night was completed in the beautiful main room of Grote Zaal, in the company of Neneh Cherry. Aided by a backing band constantly swapping instruments, Cherry ran through a number of tracks from her Broken Politics album. The singer’s voice is still as effortlessly cool as ever and lends itself perfectly to these more jazz-influenced songs from her late period career." - The Line of Best Fit
