Watch: King Champion Sounds release new video 'Memory Is Imagined'

Fri Oct 19th

Leading up to their forthcoming album 'For A Lark', set to be released on the exact same day as their performance at Le Guess Who?, King Champion Sounds has shared a new video for 'Memory Is Imagined'. Premiered via Louder Than War, this track is a deeply psychedelic and transformative song featuring heavy guitar action courtesy of Steve Gunn and meditative words from Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Imaad Wasif.

Watch below; previously, we also premiered the band's video for meditative track 'Om Bhur Bhuvah Svah'

"The horns are crucial to the King Champion Sounds, er, sound; steering their churning, scuzzy yet melodic Kraut-punk towards Northern Soul rave-ups one minute and experimental jazz flare-outs the next, attracting traces of West African highlife and Jamaican ska along the way, and always with a heavy side order of dub, helped along by thick heavy bass and Ajay's generous use of the melodica." - The Quietus

King Champion Sounds perform at Le Guess Who? 2018 together with a.o. The Breeders, Yonatan Gat & The Eastern Medicine Singers, Swamp Dogg, Art Ensemble of Chicago, The Comet Is Coming, Kikagaku Moyo, Lonnie Holley, Cass McCombs, Mudhoney, Hailu Mergia, and many more.
